What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember you, keep your preferences and load faster.
Alongside cookies we also use your browser's local storage. For example, we keep your cookie choice there so we do not ask the same question on every visit.
Why do we use cookies?
We use cookies to run the core functions of the site, remember your language preference and improve your experience. We take care to load only the technologies we genuinely need.
Types of cookies we use
We group the cookies we use by their function into the following categories:
- Essential cookies: Required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. Your language preference and cookie choice belong to this group.
- Functional cookies: Remember your preferences to give you a smoother experience.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the site. We only run these with your consent.
- Third-party cookies: Placed by embedded services such as Google Maps.
Cookies used on our site
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the language you selected. | Essential | 1 year |
| nx-cookie-consent | Stores your cookie choice (accept or reject). | Essential, local storage | Until you delete it |
| Google Maps | Placed by Google so the embedded map service can work. | Third party | Subject to Google |
Third-party services
On our contact and location sections we use the Google Maps service. When you load the map, Google may place its own cookies, which are subject to Google's privacy policy. If you reject cookies, we do not load the map as an embed and only show a link to Google Maps instead.
For browser security reasons we cannot access these third-party cookies or delete them on your behalf; however, we prevent them from being set by not loading the embedded content at all.
How to manage cookies
You can control your cookie preference in two ways:
- Press Reject on the cookie bar that appears at the bottom of the site to switch off non-essential cookies. The page then reloads and non-essential cookies are cleared.
- Use your browser settings to view, delete or fully block cookies. The links below help you reach the cookie settings of common browsers.
If you block essential cookies, some parts of the site may not work properly.
