Engine

Drive comes from an SDEC SC9D280D2 diesel engine with six cylinders in an inline layout and 8.8 litres of displacement. Bore and stroke measure 114 x 144 mm and the compression ratio is 16.5:1. A turbocharged, aftercooled intake keeps charge-air temperature down when load is applied in steps. Fuel consumption is stated as 58 L/h at 100% load and 43.5 L/h at 75% load, the two figures the daily fuel tank calculation is built on.

Alternator and Electrical Data
