The Shanghai Dongfeng 900 kVA diesel generator is configured for facilities with heavy current demand, rated at 900 kVA / 720 kW standby and 818 kVA / 654 kW prime. Its electrical performance translates into 1299 A of standby current and 1181 A of continuous current at 400/230 V. With a 0.8 power factor and 50 Hz frequency, the set connects directly to three-phase distribution boards.

Engine

Mechanical power comes from the SDEC SC27G900D2 engine. The 26.6 litre block carries 12 cylinders in a V type arrangement, with a bore x stroke of 135 x 155 mm and a 16:1 compression ratio. The Turbocharged Aftercooled intake cools the charge air to hold combustion efficiency under high load. Fuel consumption is 188 L/hour at 100% load and 141 L/hour at 75% load, with a cooling capacity value of 160.

Alternator and Electrical Values

The alternator runs at 400/230 V - 50 Hz, three-phase, with a 0.8 power factor. Windings use class H insulation and the enclosure carries an IP23 protection rating. This combination is aimed at keeping winding temperature inside the class tolerance at the 1299 A standby current while shielding rotating parts from solid objects.
