Baudouin 550 kVA Diesel Generator
What defines this set is its engine. The BAUDOUIN 6M21G550/5 places six cylinders inline, with a displacement of 12.54 litres, a bore of 127 mm and a stroke of 165 mm. With the stroke longer than the bore, the block follows the long stroke geometry familiar from industrial diesels. A compression ratio of 16:1 works with a turbocharged, aftercooled intake that raises the density of air reaching the combustion chamber. This mechanical arrangement is the basis of the 440 kW standby output.
Engine
In the 6M21G550/5 the six cylinders run in a single row and the 12.54 L displacement is compressed at 16:1. Turbocharging combined with aftercooling increases the mass of air packed into each cylinder. Fuel consumption is 109.5 litres per hour at full load and 82.5 litres per hour at 75 percent load, so the load profile of the installation feeds directly into running cost.
Alternator and Electrical Values
The alternator works at 400/230 V and 50 Hz in three phase, with ratings calculated at a 0.8 power factor.
