The Perkins 450 kVA generating set is built on the PERKINS 2206A-E13TAG3, a six-cylinder inline diesel engine of 12.5 litres. A 130 x 157 mm bore and stroke, a 16.3:1 compression ratio and turbocharged air-to-air aspiration are the three elements that shape the mechanical character of the set. Together they support steady operation under load in the 450 kVA standby and 400 kVA prime power class.

Engine

The 2206A-E13TAG3 spreads its 12.5 L displacement across six cylinders in an inline arrangement. A 130 mm bore combined with a 157 mm stroke gives the engine a long-stroke character, while the 16.3:1 compression ratio governs how the diesel charge burns. Turbocharged air-to-air aspiration cools the charge air before it reaches the cylinders. Fuel consumption is 92 L/h at 100% load and 68 L/h at 75% load.
