Sizing a generator comes down to separating the load a facility draws continuously from the peaks that appear when motors and compressors start. The Perkins 165 kVA answers both in a single frame, with 150 kVA / 120 kW of prime power (PRP) for uninterrupted duty and 165 kVA / 132 kW of standby power (ESP) for backup service. Engine
Power comes from the Perkins 1106A-70TAG2 diesel engine, a 6-cylinder inline unit of 7 L displacement. A 105 x 135 mm bore and stroke together with an 18.2:1 compression ratio favour strong torque at low engine speed, and the turbocharged air-to-air aspiration cools the charge air before combustion. Fuel consumption is 33.4 L/h at 100% load and 24.7 L/h at 75% load, which makes tank sizing straightforward.
Alternator and Electrical Data
The alternator delivers 400/230 V at 50 Hz across three phases, rated at a 0.8 power factor, so three-phase motor loads and single-phase consumers can be distributed from the same source. Winding insulation is class H and the enclosure carries IP23 protection. Available current is 217 A in prime duty and 238 A in standby duty.
